Hart talks Alabama offer
New offers are becoming the norm for Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas offensive tackle Bobby Hart. Not only did he put together a great season as a junior while playing at Cardinal Gibbons, but already he has made a splash in offseason camps as well. Recently, the defending national champions added their name to his offer list.
"They said they were sending it tomorrow in the mail," Hart said of the Alabama offer. "I talked to Coach Bobby Williams. He said they were sending it tomorrow and I'll talk to Coach Saban tomorrow. I've been talking to them ever since I visited there for their LSu game."
With as many offers as he is landing, Hart is not easily impressed, but the Tide clearly sparks his interest.
"They're definitely in the top tier," he said. "They'll be in my top 10 for sure. It's just their tradition. Their fan base really supports them down there in Tuscaloosa. When I was down there, I can't even count how many times I heard 'Roll Tide'. The town is all about Alabama."
The Alabama offer was one that Hart was specifically eyeing. Now that it is in, there are only four more schools left that he really has his eye on that he would love to see come in with an offer: Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame and Florida.
In the meantime, Hart is in no hurry to narrow his list or make a decision.
"I might have a top ten or so after my spring game but I'm going to take as long as it takes to figure out what school is the best for me."
During the spring, Hart has plans to see a few different programs though he has nothing set in stone except for this upcoming weekend. On Saturday, he will be in Tallahassee for Florida State's junior day.
When he's not thinking about recruiting, Hart has a busy offseason of workouts at his new school of St. Thomas Aquinas. After missing out on a state championship in 2009, Hart is ready to help the program get another ring after transferring in.
"We had workouts at six this morning," he said. "It's real challenging. I'm trying to make sure we get back. Right now the O-line is one of our weak points so we're getting it in and running. At Gibbons, I was wrestling and playing basketball at the same time but I'm just working out for football right now."
