Oaks Christian defensive end Dillon van der Wal (pictured) was selected as the Coastal Southern Section Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder returned in time for the Lions' loss to Westlake; he sacked Westlake's Nick Isham three times in the loss. He would sack Isham two more times as Oaks Christian beat Westlake in the Northern Division title game on Dec. 10.
