Oklahoma Picking Up Interest in top Texas TE
While Oklahoma's tight end recruiting for the class of 2012 is still in flux one prospect at the position that is quickly seeing his name grow for the class of 2013 is Red Oak, Texas standout Jeremiah Gaines.
As one of the Dallas' area's top prospects it should come as no surprise that the 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect was invited, and attended, last month's Red River Rivalry game. Prior to the game the Longhorns, who as the home team extended the invitation to attend, had been in contact with Gaines quite heavily but since the game he has seen interest pick up from the Sooners.
Though it was his first chance to see the Sooners up close, he doesn't lack for familiarity with the program.
"It was my first Oklahoma-Texas game, I really liked it - I sat on the Texas side since they were the home team," Gaines said. "Actually it was my first OU game period. Since then I get letters from Oklahoma two or three times a week and then last week I talked to coach (Bruce) Kittle. He said they want me to get up to a game."
