Simpson speaks on State commitment
Last week Mississippi State fans were surprised to learn that the Bulldogs had received a commitment from Oxford, Ala., defensive end Trent Simpson.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound sleeper has been sitting on the MSU offer since late spring and decided that now was as good a time as any to make his choice.
"It's a good feeling," Simpson said. "It's not that it was bothering me but I'm glad I made this decision. This is where I wanted to be and I'm glad that's where I'm going to be for the next four years. The timing of it really didn't matter and I was as fine with doing it then as I would have been after football season. That is what felt right and I needed to go with what felt right."
Simpson received his offer two days after visiting the Bulldogs for the first time while attending their spring game in late April. He made a return visit to camp in June which only helped solidify where he felt at home.
