Texas lineman ready to make commitment?
Trey Biddy
HawgSports.com Arkansas had success in Cedar Hill, Texas, last year in signing 2006 cornerback prospect Jerell Norton, and the Razorback coaches have their eyes set on offensive tackle John Jones out of Cedar Hill this year.
Jones checked in at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds at the College Station, Texas, NIKE Football Training Camp on April 22. He has double-digit scholarship offers and plans to make at least two more camps this summer before making a decision at the start of next week.
"I plan on making my decision on what school I'm going to go to on Sunday," Jones said. "So far, I have 15 offers. I went to one camp, so far. I went to the Texas A&M offensive lineman/D-line camp. I plan to go to the TCU camp on Friday and the SMU camp this Saturday."
Arkansas will have a tough time gaining Jones' commitment if he does not visit the campus, but there is a slim chance he could head to Fayetteville, Ark., on Thursday. He has a cousin who plans to transfer to Arkansas (not athletics related), and he is heading to Fayetteville at that time for a visit.
