Kicking for credit

Generally, punters are ranked by the average distance of their punts. The longer the distance, the bigger the "Oohs" and "Aahs" from the crowd, the more accolades a punter receives.
Simple, really.
But any punter knows that his final season average for distance has little to do how good of a punter he is. Just ask Penn State senior punter Jeremy Kapinos.
When asked why he hadn't been invited to any senior bowls so far this season, Kapinos put things into perspective.
"I guess there's still a few (senior bowls) out there that want to go with the big numbers," he said at Penn State's media day last Thursday. "I'm not too concerned about that."
