Louisville DT has early offer, interest

Rivals.com Football Recruiting LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Thanks to a standout showing at the University of Kentucky's prospect camp this past summer, Pleasure Ridge Park defensive tackle Brandon Newman holds a scholarship offer from the Wildcats. He also has been getting interest from several other programs.
"I like Kentucky a lot," he said. "When I went on an unofficial visit over there, it had a real family feel. That's going to be very important to me when I make my decision is a family atmosphere. When I was at camp, they put me up against the best senior that they had there and I beat him and that's when they said they would offer me."
The 6-foot-1, 300-pound Newman's father lives just outside of Detroit, Mich. That makes Michigan a big factor.
