USCFootball.com Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln offensive tackle Matt Meyer became the Trojans' first commitment of the year, while becoming the third commitment of the 2008 class.
Meyer, a second team all-state selection as a junior, made his commitment in person when he unofficially visited USC this weekend. While the news of his pledge broke Saturday, Meyer made his decision last Friday.
"I was actually offered about two weeks ago," said Meyer. "I was sitting down having lunch with a couple of my friends when I got a call from my coach. He said he spoke to Pete Carroll and that he wanted to offer me a scholarship.
