Blanton's trip to ND an eye-opener
About the only thing Robert Blanton didn't like about his two-day unofficial visit to Notre Dame last week was the long drive from his home in Matthews, N.C., to South Bend, Ind.
"We drove in the car for 12 hours and it was a beast," said Blanton, who was accompanied on the trip by his parents, older sister and younger brother. "I thought the trip was great, though."
Upon arriving on campus on Tuesday, the Blanton contingent met up with Irish defensive coordinator Corwin Brown and spent the next couple of hours discussing the possibility of the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back joining the Irish family.
