Offers pouring in for Coples
SNOW HILL, N.C. - With more than 30 scholarship offers, Kinston (N.C.) defensive end Quinton Coples is a national-level recruit, but the UNC coaching staff would very much prefer to keep him in the Tar Heel State. Coples made a trip to Chapel Hill to view one of North Carolina's practices this spring, where he got a chance to interact with his recruiting coach, John Blake.
Given UNC's lack of depth at defensive end beyond the 2007 season, Coples sees the opportunity to make an early impact, and Blake pointed it out to him as well.
"He's very good; I love him to death," Coples said of Blake. "I went to one of the practices, and he said, 'You could be a good fit,' I can look at the situation in they're in, as far as helping them out or whatever, and helping them get back on the map."
