Q&A with cornerback Terrence Wheatley
Adam Munsterteiger
BuffStampede.com BOULDER, Colo. - Terrence Wheatley's interception return for a touchdown was one of the few bright spots in the game for the Buffaloes last Saturday. The 11th pick of his career, Wheatley is now tied for sixth on CU's all-time list with Steve Rosga and Ben Kelly.
The senior cornerback took time out to talk with Rivals.com following Tuesday's practice.
Two games, two interceptions
did you come into the season with an interception total that you wanted to achieve? Terrence Wheatley: "Enough for us to win (laughing). I don't really have a set number. I just want to go out and make plays. Two games, you can't ask for anything more than that."
After reviewing film of the Arizona State game, is it any easier to put a finger on what happened? "We just didn't make plays and that was it. We knew what we were doing. We definitely had opportunities to make plays. We just didn't make them. This week, we just need to make plays. Period."
Is this year's team in better shape mentally to bounce back from a loss? "Oh, yeah. This is probably the best practice we've had as far as a Tuesday practice with a new game plan. Guys knew everything; guys were in film on Sunday and Monday so I think we're definitely ready to go."
