The Ohio State recruiting effort took another major step on Thursday night with Ohio State picking up a verbal commitment from Fort Washington (Md.) athlete Lamaar Thomas. The 5-foot-11, 181-pound speedster was also considering Illinois and Maryland.

Thomas first fell in love with Ohio State when he made a visit to Columbus for camp over the summer and the Buckeyes have been in the thick of things since then.
