Foster forced to reschedule trip
Cedric Foster was originally scheduled to take his first official visit out to San Diego State this coming weekend. But the 5-foot-8, 191-pound athlete has something even more important on the schedule.
Foster and his Riverside (Calif.) North teammates will play Palm Desert for the CIF-Southern Section championship on Saturday night.
North lost their season opener to Redlands East Valley, but since then they have won 12 straight.
"Our cohesiveness is what has allowed us to go on the run that we have," said Foster, who starts both ways at running back and linebacker. "After we lost that first game, we got together and decided that we didn't want that feeling again.
"Losing our opener was a bad feeling. So since then, we have kept on track, kept on focus and we have been able to win all the other games."
Through the first 12 games of his senior season, Foster had rushed for 1,063 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also recorded 54 tackles and three interceptions on defense.
Foster said he has re-scheduled his official visit with the Aztecs.
"I am going to go visit San Diego State in mid-January now," he said. "I have also been hearing from Utah and Idaho recently offered me a scholarship. I am just trying to keep my options open right now so I don't really have a favorite."
Foster might not have a favorite, but he did admit recently that he was tempted to commit to San Diego State earlier this fall.
"I think they have a really good program," Foster said in regards to the Aztecs. "They were the first to offer me a scholarship so that means a lot. I went down there and checked out one of their games unofficially this season and I saw that they like to run the ball a lot. I definitely like that."
