Brenham, Texas, running back Lester Ward generated a lot of excitement when he committed to the Bears before the season. Not only was he a prospect strong in character and athletic ability, but he is also the son of former Baylor standout by the same name.

Since making his commitment Ward has had a tough road. After suffering an injury to his hamstring he was forced to sit out the majority of his senior season. Ward though didn't quit, he went through a rigorous rehab and was source of encouragement for his Brenham teammates.
