Williams amazed on visit to Missouri
Before this weekend, Denton (TX) Ryan DE Josh Williams was interested in Missouri enough to take an official visit. After the icy visit to Columbia, Williams said that he was very glad that he made the trip.
One of the biggest things that Williams hoped to do this weekend was to meet several of the Missouri coaches. Williams said that enjoyed getting to meet the coaches, but it was a lot of fun getting the chance to talk with his main recruiter from Missouri, Bruce Walker, face to face.
Williams said that it was really interesting getting to sit and watch the Heisman presentation while on the Tiger campus. He said that it was something he didn't expect to get the chance to be a part of, but was glad for the opportunity.
This past weekend was easily the largest visit weekend for the Tigers and Williams said that he was plenty busy getting to know several other recruits that he hadn't met before. He added that he knew that there would be a little pressure on him being one of the few non-Missouri commits, but he said it was easy to take it in stride.
Along with many other guys from the class of 2008 that Williams got to meet, he said that hanging out with his host for the weekend, Jared Perry helped him meet a few members of the Tiger defense. He added he was excited to meet people, both offensively and defensively, who had been such a difference for the Tigers this year.
After a productive weekend, Williams said that things aren't going to get any easier for him. This coming weekend, Williams said that he had at least four different schools planning on coming by his house for their in-home visits with him.
Even though he remains committed to Nebraska, Williams admitted the trip was good for him. He said that after leaving Columbia, he saw the tigers in a whole new light and that one of the biggest things he heard about Missouri was absolutely true.
Williams' recruiting has been under the microscope over the past month. He said that he has hope that things will resolve themselves soon, but understood that that didn't mean that they would.
