Mobile WR impressed with AU offense
Mobile (Ala.) Williamson wide receiver LaVoyd James got a first-hand look at Auburn's new spread offense last Saturday and liked what he saw, especially from slot receiver Robert Dunn.
Dunn, a senior, was one of the stars of the A-Day game, catching five passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound James, who also plays slot receiver in a spread offense, saw a lot of similarities between him and Dunn.
"He caught a lot of balls and I like that," said James. "He plays just like me. He catches the ball and gets upfield just like me.
"I liked watching the game and how they run their offense. It's the same offense we run. It was fun."
James spoke with AU offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, receivers coach Steve Ensminger and linebackers coach James Willis during his visit to Auburn.
