Roh soaking in Sun Devil program
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral end Craig Roh is one of the most highly sought after prospects in the nation. He has already received 34 offers, including USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Florida State, as well as both in-state schools. Having so many good programs interested has made it tough for Roh to shorten his list of favorites.
"My Dad and I went through the list of offers that I have, we eliminated about have of them and now it's just weeding through the really good ones. There are a lot of good schools to consider," Roh said. "I think what I am going to do is make to a top five before the season so it's manageable and so I can really enjoy my senior season.
"I would probably then take an official visit to all of those schools and probably make a decision after the season."
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder participated in Arizona State's Maroon and Gold Camp this past Sunday.
"Camp went pretty well. I got to see how Coach Stretz coaches. Coach Erickson gave us a speech about how life and football can intertwine." Roh said. "I went down to ASU this afternoon (Wednesday) and met with Coach Erickson and Grady Stretz. I spent about an hour with Erickson talking about the program and then watched tape with Coach Stretz.
"I really liked the both of them and especially liked going over tape with Stretz. I am sure that ASU will be on the short list when I narrow down my choices."
Roh has also made treks to Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Arizona this spring and has a few more trips in the works.
"I am going to visit Michigan in about two weeks when my family goes up there for a vacation. I think that I might visit Colorado and Oregon this summer," Roh said.
A solid student with a self reported 1750 SAT and 4.3 GPA, Roh also totaled 100 tackles, 15.5 sacks and five forced fumbles last season for the Firebirds and he is looking forward to next season.
"We have a ton of guys coming back on defense. We also added a good transfer Taylor Lewan who just got offered by ASU," Roh said. "We are looking amazing right now."
