Cotton ends Elite 11 on high note
There no question about Raymond Cotton's athleticism or potential as a quarterback.
There's also no question that the Auburn commitment still has a lot of work to do to grasp all the fundamentals and skills it takes to be a successful D-I quarterback. That's what made this week's Elite 11 camp so invaluable to Cotton.
"I think he learned a whole lot," said quarterback coach Tee Martin. "He has a positive attitude and didn't lose any confidence. He had a tough beginning and started to get progressively better each day. He left with his confidence and his head held up high.
"He ended up strong."
Cotton learned a lot of new drills that will help him with his drops and footwork. He also showed off his athleticism and potential, winning an impromptu 40-yard dash and finishing just behind Georgia commit Zach Mettenberg in the strongest arm contest.
Fellow Georgia commit Aaron Murray was named the MVP.
