Auburn TE commit looking at other options
One of Auburn's top commitments in its 2009 class said Wednesday night he plans to consider other schools and will now take all five of his official visits.
Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen, rated a four-star recruit and the No. 5 tight end in the country by Rivals.com, said the firing of Tiger offensive coordinator Tony Franklin and the future of Auburn's offense has him reconsidering his commitment.
Lutzenkirchen committed to Auburn in May in large part because of Franklin's spread offense. Lassiter runs Franklin's version of the offense. With Franklin gone, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Lutzenkirchen said he'd be keeping a close eye on who the Tigers bring in as the new coordinator.
