Young cornerbacks look to make strides
"The slightest mistake can be the difference between getting an interception," Tim Clark says. "Or giving up a touchdown."
Truer words have never been spoken by the senior cornerback who is being counted on to help lead the Oregon State secondary this season, which will be breaking in new starters at every position.
And that's why the focus this spring for the OSU defensive backs is improving their technique. While the group is arguably more athletic than last year's especially in the secondary, Clark is the only player who has a start under his belt, having made six in his career.
Clark realizes it will be difficult to replace four-year starters Keenan Lewis and Brandon Hughes. Yet, he said he and his fellow corners are up to the challenge. Patrick Henderson, Brandon Hardin, James Dockery, David Ross and Keynan Parker are fighting to start opposite of Clark.
