Oregon State 'Happy' with 4-star commitment
One of the fastest rising stars on the recruiting front is 6-foot-3, 283 pound defensive tackle, Happy Iona from Spanaway (Wash.) Bethel. Iona shot up the rankings once his film was released, going from an unranked player to a rivals.com four-star prospect ranked as the third best overall prospect in the state of Washington.
Oregon State has been recruiting Iona for quite some time and after a couple of visits to Corvallis, he felt comfortable committing to the Beavers late last night. BeaverBlitz.com caught up with Iona's head coach at Bethel, Gavin Kralik this morning to talk about Iona's recruitment and his commitment to the Beavers.
"Yes, Happy committed to Oregon State last night," Coach Kralik said. "He had a great trip (Tuesday) and Coach Langsdorf, Coach Seumalo, and Coach Riley all did a good job of building a strong relationship with him. He had a good time at their camp in June and then followed it up with a good trip this week with his uncle and grandma."
