Here's the latest high school football trick play.

    Brad Heap throws a backward lateral pass to receiver Beau Stapley, who hesitates, then fires a TD pass to D.J. Geroux.

    Here's the trick. When the initial pass is bounced, Stapley hesitates enough to make the defense think the play is over.

    But it's not. Since the pass went backward and was actually a lateral, the play was very much alive.

    Stapley's fake sells the play. His pass produces a score.
