The streak ended early, as Maxwell (Calif.) High's Steve Perry gave up a single in the second inning, thus ending his bid for a national record five straight no-hitters.

The sensational start to the season is still going, as Perry through a six-inning one-hitter to improve to 8-0 with - wait for it - just three hits allowed all season.

Perry was not able to make national news, but after his team triumphed 10-0 in the Shasta Lake Bass Easter Baseball Classic in Redding, Calif., Perry told the Colusa County Sun-Herald he seemingly was glad he didn't.

"It's a big relief," he told the paper. "I don't have the pressure to have to be perfect, I can just throw."

More so, his teammates don't have to be perfect either.

"Everybody's been talking about being nervous and not wanting it hit to them," he told the paper.

Maxwell improved to 18-0 on the season.
