The Evergreen State's top linemen this season is Mason Friedline of King's High School. His recruitment heated up to the point that the Nation's premier schools jumped in and wanted him to come play.

After receiving a Dozen or so offers Mason has decided to make his decision and pledge himself to his collegiate choice. And in doing so he has made a pick that not ever kid could or would make. His excellent academic work as a student has earned him a chance to play in the Ivy League.

Mason is going to play for Yale. And in our in depth interview with Mason we get to the heart of the matter.

WP: Mason why Yale over all of these big schools that wanted you?

Mason: Yale has the incredible mix of world class academics with big time football. I love their coaching staff, and I believe that they are going to really turn the program into an Ivy league champion. And last of all the school just really fits me and I know that I am going to really thrive there.

WP: What are you planning to study at Yale?

Mason: I'm planning to study Business with a focus in either Sports Management or International Business.

WP: What about the football program? How did you find the facilities, the guys, and Coaches and Staff?

Mason: The team is from what I've seen a bunch of guys on a mission. I'll get a better feel for this when I take my official. The facilities are really nice. The weight room is sweet and they have something like 3 or 4 practice fields. The coaches are amazing like I said. I've had the chance to meet a bunch of great coaches at different schools, but I really connected with these guys and I believe they will help me be the best football player and young man possible.

WP: Ok great job Mason! Now the question is what about King's and your Senior year? How are things looking?

Mason: We honestly have one of the deepest, most talented teams in King's history. Every position on the field is stacked with talented upperclassmen with a lot of playoff experience. We've come up short in the quarterfinals for 3 years in a row, but this is the year to win it all for us.

WP: Great stuff Mason. Good luck with season and with your future at Yale!

Mason: Thanks guys for all your help during this process.

We will keep you up dated on Mason and all of the top linemen in State as well as follow the story of King's football program.
