The only thing left to do is take a trip around the Land of Lincoln to check out some of the best games.

Illinois: Top 10 games for Week 2
Jacksonville @ Glenwood
Friday 7PM
No question outside of the Battle of the Leonards this week this is a great game to see in the Central State 8. Jakcsonville and head coach Mark Grounds might have one of his best teams in years and the Crimsons have size upfront and decent speed in the offensive backfield. Glenwood also rolled in Week 1 and the Titans biggest issue this week might be a Mono bug floating around the football program so far this week. Keep an eye on the injury reports in this one because Glenwood might be down some serious contributors this week. EDGY's pick? Jacksonville

Glenbard North @ Carmel
Friday 7:30PM
Glenbard North was able to put up some points and yards last week on offense yet the Panthers defense just had issues with the Batavia passing game in it's loss to the Bulldogs. GBN's defense won't have to worry too much about the pass this week against the ground hugging Corsairs. Can the Corsairs get the veer option going this week against a speedy Panthers defense? Can the Corsairs defense slow down the Panthers running game and standout RB Justin Jackson? EDGY's Pick? Glenbard North

Marist vs Brother Rice
Friday 7:30PM
The Neighborhood Brawl we have all hoped to see happen for awhile now. Marist is coming off a big win over St Rita and the Redhawks spread passing offense is the real deal. Brother Rice is also throwing the ball and new head coach Brian Badke is bringing a new offense and look to the Crusaders this season. Can each team beat each other at it's same game? This one could get really fun and I wouldn't be shocked if we see a big score in this one. EDGY's pick? Marist

St. Rita @ Danville
Friday 7PM
Again this is just one of those match ups you don't get to see every year. St. Rita played well at times against Marist but just couldn't stop the Redhawks passing game late in the 35-25 loss. The Mustangs will need to come out and outmuscle the faster Vikings. Danville also lost a toughie last week to Bloomington and both are in serious need of a win. Hard to believe someone here will walk away 0-2 after this game. Danville will be packed for this one folks. EDGY's pick? St. Rita

Lincoln-Way East at Montini Catholic
Friday 7:30PM
East had issues last week on offense yet still pulled out the 31-6 win over Carmel. Was East holding back some of the play book last week or was last week the start of some bigger issues and questions for the Griffin? Montini pulled out an overtime win over Palatine yet the Bronco also had issues on defense last week. Just how healthy are the Broncos after a tough and physical game against an 8A power? This could also be a wild win...and check the starting lineups very carefully before making this pick. EDGY's pick? Montini Catholic

Lake Zurich @ Cary-Grove
Friday 7:15PM
The similarity of these two programs is uncanny...from the speedy defenses to the power option game on offense. Lake Zurich will try to go from sideline to sideline with it's option while the Trojans are more of the old school smash-mouth variety. Much like last season I'm expecting a low scoring game here and a fast game as well. Close, very close but I'll take Da Bears here. EDGY's pick? Lake Zurich

Oak Lawn Richards @ Morris
Friday 7:30PM
Richards and head coach Tony Sheehan has a really good and talented team this season, yet this will be a huge task for the Dawgies. Richards will need to play mistake free ball this week and winning in Morris is a major task for all comers. The Redskins offense took a bit to get going last week against Minooka yet the Morris defense as expected was on point. This will be the type of game where you can tell after the first few series if one team has the advantage over the other. Richards has speed and Morris is a bigger and more physical group. Morris has also had issues against speedy teams over the past year or so. EDGY's pick? Morris

Maine South @ Wheaton South
Friday 7:30PM
It just seems like the past few years it's taken Wheaton South a few weeks to shake out the cobwebs on offense and this isn't exactly easy to get down against Glenbard West and now Maine South. South's defense will also need to come back strong this week after getting pushed around by Glenbard West in a 28-7 loss. Maine South has plenty of offense on hand yet can the Hawks defense handle a much bigger test this week in the Tigers? Should be another great matchup but in the end I see the Tigers starting the season off again at 0-2. EDGY's pick? Maine South

Naperville Central @ Neuqua Valley
Friday 7:30PM
Someone forgot to pass the memo to the Upstate 8 teams that they are not supposed to best the DuPage Valley teams. Neuqua Valley has a new head coach yet the talent is still very solid and the Wildcats could be on the verge of finally stepping up as a program and making some noise this season. Central will need to contend with a very good NV offensive line this week. Central was upset by Waubonsie Valley last week and the Redhawks will need to get it's defensive house in order against the Wildcats. EDGY's pick? Neuqua Valley

Whitehaven Tenn @ East St. Louis
Sunday 7PM
Part of the annual City of Champions triple header in the Lou. Whitehaven is nationally ranked yet this is a team that will play very close to the vest on both sides of the ball. Whitehaven has talent but they are also more of a ball control and clock management type of team and program. The Flyers came up short last week against Rockhurst in Missouri and look for this team to get some issues straight this week at home. If the Flyers can get consistent on offense they have a great chance to pull of a win this week against a very good Whitehaven team. EDGY's pick? East St. Louis
