As we head into the fall, there are quite a few boy's and/or girl's tournaments that get started and prep high school players for their upcoming competitive seasons.

Here are some of the key pre-season tournaments, NYCHoops.net will be checkin' as we finish up and prepare to release our pre-season top ten teams and 2013 player's rankings.

Ball by the Beach Back-2-School Invitational (Powered by Under Amour)
  • Location: Kingsborough Community College (Brooklyn, NY 11235)
  • Dates: Friday August 31st - Sunday September 2nd, 2012
  • Lowdown: PSAL and CHSAA high school teams. Also includes high school teams from Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey. 32 boys' teams and 16 girls' teams

    iS8/Nike Tip-Off Classic
  • Dates: Saturday September 8th - October, 2012 (Thursdays - Sundays)
  • Location(s): Intermediate school #8 (108-35 167th Street, Jamaica, NY 11433), TBA
  • Lowdown: Combination of AAU, Grassroots and High school teams. Must be 19U. Usually about 60 boys' teams

    Rose Classic Sr. Fall Tournament (Sponsored by Nike)
  • Dates: Saturday September 8 - Sunday October 14 (Saturday's & Sundays)
  • Location: JHS 113 (300 Adelphi Street Brooklyn, NY 11205)
  • Lowdown: Girls Travel & AAU programs. 18U (5 games per team). Up to 60 teams

    Gauchos Fall Ball Classic
  • Dates: Monday September 10th - Thursday October 4th
  • Location: Gauchos Gym (478 Gerard Ave. Bronx, NY)
  • Lowdown: 16 New York City boys teams play in order to advance and play Upstate/Westchester team

    Island Garden Pre-Season League
  • Dates: September 12 - 1st week in November (weeknights and weekends)
  • Location: Island Garden - 45 Cherry Valley Rd. West Hempstead, NY
  • Lowdown: Open to teams ranging from 4th Grade to varsity (boys and girls). Can choose a 4 or 8 game schedule. Registration deadline is September 7th.

    5th Annual Tru-Ballaz Pre-High School Classic (Sponsored by Nike)
  • Dates: Saturday September, 15, 2012 - Oct. 20, 2012 (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays)
  • Location: FDA III (Bronx, NY on 169th and third avenue)
  • Lowdown: 16 boys teams; High school teams only. No AAU teams.

    4th Annual Beacon 158 Back-to-School Tournament
  • Dates: Monday September 17 - October 19th? (Thursdays - Mondays)
  • Location: Beacon 158 (46-35 Oceania St. Bayside, NY 11368)
  • Lowdown: 24+ New York high school boys teams
