2011 In Review: The Warriors were 6-4, losing to East Orange in the North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 playoffs. They scored 301 points for a 30.10 average, while allowing 172 points for a 17.2 average, including two shutouts. Wins included Phillipsburg, Ridge, and Hillsborough, while losses were to Elizabeth, Hunterdon Central, East Orange and Piscataway.

Departures: WR Carlton Agudosi - Rutgers, RB/DB Kye Morgan - Virginia, DB Nikhil Branscomb - Widener, QB Karl Gray - Stevenson (Md.), DL Jamell Watson - William Paterson, LB Mujahid Fricke - prep school, OL Chris Staton - JUCO for track

Offense: Franklin runs the spread and returns three starters. The quarterback will be junior I'zjaier Sanders (5-foot-11, 185). The running back will be a returning starter in senior Eddie Lee (5-foot-11, 200), moving from wide receiver. Also getting carries will be seniors Jose Benjamin (5-foot-7, 170) and Tyler Gray (5-foot-10 205). Benjamin saw action in 2010, but did not play last year, while Gray started on defense. Benjamin will also be a wide receiver.

Returning at tight end is senior Jameer Outsey (6-foot-4, 225). At the wide receivers, Benjamin and junior Sherrod Middleton (5-foot-7, 165) will occupy two positions, with the other spot being up for grabs.

The lone returnee on the line is senior tackle Anthony Messner (6-foot-0, 225), moving over from center. One guard will be senior Kevin Ademu-John (6-foot-2, 245), who saw time, and the center will be junior Ralph Normandia (5-foot-11, 205). The other guard and tackle are up for grabs.

Defense: The Warriors run a 3-4 and return five starters. Ademu-John will be the nose guard and senior Aleksei Anderson (6-foot-2, 225) will man one end. The other end will be decided in camp.

Three linebackers return, with Messner and Gray back on the inside and Outsey back at one outside post. Junior Jerrold May (6-foot-2, 205) will be the other outside linebacker and he will be pushed by junior Michael Fagg-Davey (6-foot-1, 185).

In the secondary, Lee and senior Sandy Anya (5-foot-10, 175) are back at the safeties. One cornerback will be senior Jason Arringto (5-foot-9, 165) after seeing action a year ago. Benjamin or senior Eric Alexis (5-foot-8, 175) will be the other corner.

Special Teams: Gray will be the kicker and punter. Lee and Benjamin will be the return men.

Question Marks: New starters - seeing how they pan out with the pads on.

Recruiting: Lee has 1-A interest. Outsey will be 1-AA or 1-A. Messner, Anya, and Arrington are 1-AA/D2 types, with all getting interest from Monmouth, Stonehill, and Bucknell.

It's early for the juniors, but May has potential and Sanders can be a special player.
