It's finally time for the start of the 2012 Missouri prep football season.

Let the MOsports.com Staff break down the top ten games in the Show-Me State for you this week.

9) Vashon(1-0) at Gateway Tech(1-0)
Friday 7PM
The Wolverines opened with a 46-8 victory over Cleveland NJ ROTC.   Vashon, who has received several top ten votes in Class 4 used a strong passing effort from quarterback Deion Davis to earn the victory.  Davis completed 13-of-24 passes for 349-yards and 6 touchdowns. Davis connected with Anfernee McAtee for four scores.

The Jaguars opened their season with a 27-24 victory over Riverview. Doing most of their damage on the ground, the Yellow Jackets received a pair of 100-yard rushing efforts from Michael Ball and Corbin Mason.

7) Valle Catholic(1-0) at Ste. Genevieve(1-0)
Friday 7:00 PM
Valle opened the 2012 season with a 61-0 victory over Father Tolton Catholic (Columbia). Ranked No. 3 in class 1 the Warriors prepare for a rivalry with their cross-town rivals hoping to avenge a 38-27 loss from a season ago. It was the only blemish on a 14-1 season that culminated in another Class 1 state title.

Ste. Genevieve opened their season with a 47-14 victory over visiting Dexter. While the young Dragon offense develops, the defense which returns 7 starters will carry the load.

5) Wellington Napoleon(1-0) at West Platte(1-0)
Friday 7 PM

No. 2 ranked Wellington Napoleon visits No. 6 ranked West Platte in a key battle in the Class 1 rankings. The Tigers earned an impressive 48-8 victory over Lone Jack, while the West Platte Blue Jays rolled to a 28-0 victory over Lincoln Prep.  The Blue Jays who have done a lot of their damage through the air used the ground game as Dylan Guthrie who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Jack Callahan completed all five of his passes and tossed one touchdown.

Second team all-state senior quarterback Jacob Beckemeyer(6-1 195) returns to direct the Wellington Napoleon offense. A season ago Beckemeyer completed 61% of his passes for 2,761 yards and 38 touchdown passes.
