A new week of Scouting the Game with a high profile matchup featuring Foothill and Canyon Springs. Both teams have battled many times in the past with the Falcons coming up with the edge last football season in a week two matchup.

With both teams featuring San Diego State commits, there will be a lot of talent taking the field in game one for both programs.

For Foothill, wide receiver/safety Tyler Morris is already committed to the Aztecs but the star of the program is quarterback Drew Doxtator. After passing for 2687-yards and accounting for a total of 39 touchdowns as a sophomore, he is looking to prove he is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He is a player with a lot of weapons at his disposal and the Falcons will be looking to get their new defense clicking in game one.

For Canyon Springs, there is no question that Aztec commit Donnel Pumphrey is the star of the team and should be considered among the best backs in the nation. An extremely explosive running back with game breaking speed, Pumphery is looking to go out with a bang. With a young and experienced cast, the Pioneers are built for success now with quality depth.

With both programs among the top contenders in the state along with several player that will be followed closely this football season, this week's Scouting the Game will be among the best match-ups of the season.
