2011 In Review: The Chiefs were 10-2, winning the North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 final by beating Elizabeth, after beating East Orange and Hunterdon Central in (overtime). They scored 386 points for a 32.17 average, while allowing 153 points for a 12.75 average, including five shutouts. Wins included Sayreville, Franklin, and Old Bridge, while losses were to South Brunswick and Woodbridge.

Departures: RB Tevin Shaw - Kansas, WR/DB Tajae Sharpe - UMass, T/DT Damien Stevens - Fordham, OL/DL Ryan James - Lehigh, FB/DE Beniah Harrigan - Oklahoma State as a walk on, G/DT Jonathan Kinslow - Wesley, T/DL Temi Adebayo - Wesley,
DE Javon Rodd - New Haven, DB Kendall Marks - New Haven, WR Mubeen Quaraishi - Montclair State, TE Shawn Hall - Fork Union Military Academy (prep)

Offense: Piscataway runs a multiple I and returns four starters and a co-starter. Returning for his fourth year at quarterback is senior Nadir Barnwell (5-foot-11, 185). Tailback has senior Tyrell Judson (5-foot-10, 175). In addition, seniors Jamall James (5-foot-9, 165) and Cameron Nash (5-foot-9, 185) will also get carries, with James seeing some action last year. The fullback will be senior Adrian Farfan (5-foot-11, 205), a co-starter from a year ago.

Returning for his fourth year at wide receiver is senior Kyle LaPorte (5-foot-10, 170). In the mix at the other wide receiver are senior Charles Gratz (6-foot-3, 185), senior David Claybrook (6-foot-2, 180), senior Chris Mosier (5-foot-10, 170), and junior Larry Isrjola (6-foot-0, 180) - all will play. At tight end, both senior Marcus Rountree (6-foot-1, 215) and junior Dajon Foat (6-foot-1, 215) will play, with Rountree being a defensive starter last year.

Two starters return to the line, along with one who played often. Returning are senior guard Amir Nave (6-foot-1, 265) and senior center Evan Rosenberg (5-foot-10, 230). Also back is senior tackle Justin Jaryo (6-foot-1, 215), who played at center when they lined up under center. The other tackle will be senior Jared Pinckney (6-foot-2, 210) and senior Adam Scolnick (6-foot-0, 245) will be one guard. There are also some young players who are chomping at the bit for playing time.

Defense: The Chiefs run a 4-3 and return five starters and a few others who played. The ends will be Foat and senior Denzel Lockhart (5-foot-11, 195), who saw time. Nave and senior Tre Beckley (6-foot-0, 235) have game experience and will man the tackles.

All three linebackers return, with Farfan back in the middle, Rountree returning on the strong side, and senior Kevin Butler (6-foot-0, 215) back on the weak side. Pushing for time here is Judson.

In the secondary, Barnwell and LaPorte return at cornerback. Barnwell may play safety, which would have James or Isrjola possibly playing at cornerback. Nash will play strong safety and Judson may figure here if he doesn't play linebacker. The free safety could be junior Justin Lewis (6-foot-1, 205).

Special Teams: Mosier returns as kicker and Claybrook is back at punter. LaPorte and Nash will be the return men.

Question Marks: Lack of experience on the offensive line.

Recruiting: Barnwell and LaPorte have a host of 1-A offers. Butler, Rountree, and Nave will be low 1-AA. The others are probably D3.

In the junior class, Isrjola is a prospect, but needs a good year. The others also have something to prove.

Coach's Comments: "We're going to be competitive. Our strength will be our team speed and our skill players. We're lighter in the line, but they fit the scheme. The pads are on and things are starting to take shape. Our special teams should be very good and our defense will be very good on the perimeter. We should be explosive." - Head Caoch Dan Higgins
