2011 In Review: The Patriots were 5-5, losing to Belvidere in the North Jersey Section 2 Group 1 consolation round. They scored 290 points for a 29.0 average, while allowing 151 points for a 15.1 average. Wins included Becton, Lyndhurst, and North Arlington, while losses were to Glen Rock, Rutherford, Hasbrouck Heights, and Cresskill.

Departures: RB/LB Nick Shaffer - Montclair State

Offense: Secaucus runs a multiple Wing T and returns three starters and two others who started games. The quarterback will be senior Jason Mitchell (5-foot-10, 170), who started a few games. The halfbacks will be junior JL Castellanos (5-foot-10, 185) and sophomore Justin Krause (5-foot-9, 170), with Castellanos seeing action. Fullback is between senior Tim Charles (5-foot-10, 180) and junior Brandon Bolanos (5-foot-9, 170).

Split end is a competition between senior Robert Critelli (5-foot-10, 160) and junior Pat Collins (6-foot-2, 180). Returning at tight end is senior Robert Jernstedt (6-foot-2, 185) and he will be pushed by junior Bobby Wolf (6-foot-2, 180). Collins may also be in the picture here.

Two starters return to the line in senior tackle Kyle Nelson (6-foot-3, 220) and junior guard Brandon Medina (5-foot-9, 200). The other tackle will be senior Eric Bluemke (6-foot-2, 280), while sophomore Tom Eckert (6-foot-0, 200) will be the center. The other guard is undecided.

Defense: The Patriots run a 3-4 and return one starter and three others who started games. Medina and Nelson started games on the line and they will play in two of the three spots, along with Bluemke.

At inside linebacker, Charles started some games and his partner will be either Bolanos or Krause. The outside linebackers will be seniors Ken DeAvila (6-foot-0, 180) and Evan Moore (6-foot-0, 180). Pushing for time there is Jernstedt.

Mitchell returns at safety and Collins will be his partner. Critelli will be one corner and the opposite corner will be sophomore John Jernstedt (6-foot-0, 170) and others. Senior Nick Williams (6-foot-2, 180) will be pushing for time at safety.

Special Teams: The punter is Wolf and kicker is undecided. The return men will be determined in camp.
