In a real struggle of two of the best teams on the West Coast Skyline led by Nic Sblendorio came from behind to beat Bothell in an epic battle. Is there any other way for these two teams to do it? They just flat out get after it. The final score was 33-21 and while all the talk usually centers around Max Browne USC Commit) the Friday Night game was a coming out party of sorts for rising star Ross Bowers; Bothell High's QB.
Bowers looked poised and was on target all night going for 203 yards and 3 TD's in the first half. But Sblendorio's 5 yard reverse for the TD and a 7 minute drive late in the game led by Browne this one was put out of reach. So it was another amazing battle between these two teams and Bothell once again came up short. But do not be surprised if this one gets replayed late in the year.
Now behind all of that is the real story of the game. Of any Friday Night. The moments pre-game and post game and in game that make it the human drama that it is which seems to draw us all in so very far. And if we are lucky we get a glimpse.
Photographer Charles Blackburn has a gift and he has access to the Skyline Spartans. Heck it could be any team. Wherever this guy and his camera are you will find a man at work capturing split seconds in time forever. And today he shares with our readers that gift in these great pictures.
Here is the Skyline Spartans as seen through the lens of Mr. Blackburn and we thank him for contributing to our work.
