Former Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball player John Galvin signed a professional contract over the weekend to play for UCD Marian of the Irish Superleague, the defending National Cup winners.

Galvin, who played for the Knights from 2007-2011, started 21 of 29 games his senior year, averaging 7.7 ppg and a team-best 7.4 rpg.

"John is one of the most fundamentally sound players I have worked with," Head Coach Greg Vetrone said. "He was an integral part in helping us reach the Northeast Conference Tournament. His intelligence and hard work are key factors in his game and will help him find success in Ireland."
