Offense: Lacey runs a multiple gun and returns six starters. Returning at quarterback is junior Tom Kelly (6-foot-0, 185). Wide receiver has two players back in junior Christian Tutela (5-foot-10, 180) and senior Brandon Boos (5-foot-10, 180). Also getting playing time may be senior Billy Belford (5-foot-7, 160) and senior RJ Kurtz (5-foot-7, 150). The tight end will probably be senior Ryan Sullivan (5-foot-11, 210), with senior Kevin Leahy (5-foot-11, 205) and others pushing.

Two starters return to the line in senior center Tyler Walsh (6-foot-0, 210) and senior tackle Joe Elefante (6-foot-3, 260). The other guard is between junior David Bruchel (5-foot-8, 200) and David Paprota (5-foot-10, 195).

Defense: The Lions run a 3-4 and return five starters. The nose guard will be senior Tim Grochowski (5-foot-7, 178), who saw time last year. The ends will be Sullivan and junior Steven Purtell (6-foot-3, 210), with a push from freshman Tarique Smith (6-foot-0, 250).

Question Marks: Depth and the inexperienced offensive line. The passing game will be improved after struggling last year.

Recruits: Elefante is 1-AA/D2. Boos, Spatz, Ortiz, and Sirotniak are D3 prospects.

Tutela is a junior who may go as a punter, but is a good athlete that can play WR and DB. It's still early for the rest.

Coach's Comments: "We are now in an interesting division, the A South (in the shore Conference). It's primarily a Group 4 division, where we have been Group 3 and it will be very tough week in and week out. We have never been in this division, but we have played some of the teams. It will be a division of Ocean County teams and of great interest for spectators. The team will have good skill kids back and we need to develop the line, but they are workers. We are in good shape with 70 players, plus 40 freshmen." -Head Coach Lou Vircillo
