When NASCAR drivers start a race with drivers speeding to the front, a crash often occurs and finger pointing begins.

The 2012 Tennessee high school football season has started fast and furious with many teams displaying more college prospects and more claims of No. 1.

In this week's Rivals High Top 100, for the first time in Tennessee football history four teams from the Volunteer state are listed.

Ensworth is at No. 19 after defeating Chattanooga's McCallie School 47-10.

This week the two-time defending D-II AA state champions host Raleigh Egypt.

Talent laden Memphis Whitehaven has moved up in the weekly poll to No. 27. The Tigers defeated East St. Louis (Mo.) 26-6 in the City of Champions Classic for the second consecutive season. Ridgway will host Whitehaven tonight at Halle Stadium.

Memphis University School not only makes its debut in the Top 100 but leapfrogs Maryville and lands at No. 51.

MUS fought Ensworth until the final horn to open the 2012 season before falling 35-28. Since, the Owls have dispatched Kingsbury 55-6 and upset former Top 100 Fayetteville (Ark) 42-20 at Razorback Stadium last week.

Two-time defending state champion Maryville had to fight Knoxville West before winning 47-33 in a battle of Rebels.

Maryville will host winless Heritage tonight.

Murfreesboro Riverdale (3-0) could scream for respect also. The Warriors defeated Brighton 49-12, Ballard (Ky) 47-7 and Smyrna 42-13.

The last two wins have been on the road.

In addition, Chattanooga Baylor is 3-0. The Red Raiders have defeated Soddy-Daisy 44-7, Bradley Central 34-13 and Father Ryan 24-6.

Baylor hosts MBA tonight before traveling to Ensworth next Friday.

The TNVarsity.com All-classification Top 25 poll for Sept. 6 differs from the Rivals Top 100 poll in the order these teams are placed.

The weekly TNVarsity Top 25 poll is presented during the fall through the state championship games.
