RivalsHigh 100 Week Five | Game of the Week For Week Six | High School Network

The high school football season is in full swing and this weekend there are a handful of top tier games. A lot of out-of-state battles that are heating up the high school football landscape. Football fans will need to keep an eye these in the sixth week for Weekend Watch 2009.

In Alabama, the RivalsHigh.com No. 10 team Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco is set to to take on Southern squad Prattville (Al.). Prattville has dominated the state but has struggled playing out of state opponents, including this seasons loss to North Gwinnett (Georgia).

Out in California another national name brand - De La Salle - looks to redeem their loss to Don Bosco by taking on the No. 5 team in Florida, the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. Lakeland coach Bill Castle will have his team ready to go and they have a distinct talent advantage entering the game.

Check out the video preview and be sure to post your thoughts on the message board.

Weekend Watch
No. 10 Don Bosco v. No. 71 Prattville
WHEN: Friday 9/25, 6:00 PM
LAST YEAR: Prattville finished ranked No. 10 in the nation and Don Bosco ended No. 17.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Both teams are loaded with college level talent, so there will be plenty for fans to watch. This will also should be a battle of styles, as Prattville is loaded with speed at the skill positions, while Don Bosco Prep may have one of the better defensive fronts in the country. So it will be important to see if Prattville can utilize their speed and break a few big plays or if Bosco can slow them down with their talented and experienced defense.

STAR POWER: For Bosco, you can pick and choose which DI caliber defender to focus on, as there are already five who have committed; Brandon Sacco and Bryan Murphy to Pittsburgh, James Kittredge to Vanderbilt, Ryan Cobb to Virginia, and Steele Divitto to Boston College. For Prattville, their offense revolves around quarterback Sam Gibson and the speed of athlete Corey Shelton. Also look for 6-foot-4 Cornelius Fenderson in the passing game. Defensively they are led by safety Nick Perry and linebacker Quashan Lee.

BEST MATCHUP: The Don Bosco defensive front against the playmaking ability of Sam Gibson and the speed of Corey Shelton, who you'll see in the backfield and also lined up at receiver. Bosco has a bigger cornerback, Christopher Brady, to compete with the height of Fenderson, but it should be interesting if they have anyone who can match-up with Shelton's speed.

PREDICTION: Both teams have obvious advantages in this game. For Bosco, they've had two weeks to prepare, while for Prattville they'll have the home-field advantage. In an odd twist, this will only be Bosco's second game of the season, while this will be the fifth for Prattville, which also might come into play. However, despite their trek down south and the inhospitable surroundings, look for Don Bosco Prep to control the line of scrimmage with their experienced defense, and with Prattville's line play still a question mark to some, their weaknesses will likely be exposed in this game. Don Bosco 27, Prattville 10

Weekend Watch
No. 34 Lakeland v. No. 83 De La Salle
WHEN: Friday 9/25, 7:00 pm
LAST SEASON: Lakeland lost Florida 5A state finals. De la Salle lost CIF Div I Bowl.

KEEP AN EYE ON: How Lakeland reacts to the travel. Heading from Florida out to California could cause for some drowsey eyes early in the game. Also see how De La Salle responds from a week off. Last time we saw the Spartans in action they were soundly beaten at the hands of Don Bosco Prep.

PLAYER'S TO WATCH: Powering the Lakeland offense is junior all-everything Javares McRoy, his older brother Ben McRoy, and Florida State commitment - senior quarterback Jarred Haggins. While they may be the fuel that powers the offensive side of the ball, their defense is just as dangerous, returning veteran team off their state-runner up team including Purdue LB commitment Will Lucas and three-star LB Quayshawn Nealy. Watch for the Naught's running game, they powerful and fast.

BEST MATCHUP: The De La Salle pass rush versus the Lakeland offensive line. De La Salle had a hard time getting pressure on Don Bosco but should have more opportunity to disrupt this week. Many people point to the youth and inexperience on the Lakeland O-line as the one thing keeping them from being a truly great team. If the Spartans can crack that front they have a chance, if Lakeland holds them back it could be a long day.

PREDICTION: The coaching in this game is a wash. Bill Castle for Lakeland is one of the best and he will go against a living legend in Bob Ladouceur. The play on the field may expose a weak year for De La Salle as they were beaten soundly by Don Bosco. This isn't a game where Lakeland could name the score, but it also isn't out of the realm of possibility that the Dreadnaughts could hang 40 on the board. If De La Salle does not come out strong it could be a long night. Lakeland 34, De La Salle 12

Weekend Watch
No. 28 Carroll v. No. 62 North Shore
WHEN: Saturday 9/26, 6:00 pm
LAST SEASON: This game was canceled in 2008 due to Hurricane Ike.

KEEP AN EYE ON: How the offense continues to improve under new offensive coordinator and quarterback. Keenan Gibson has continued to improve under center after some early season jitters. The Dragons have rolled through four non-district games and the offense is getting into gear.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Carroll QB David Piland missed last week with illness in 56-21 rout of Mesquite. The No. 2 QB Kyle Williamson helped the offense roll off 670 yards. He was 17-of-20 for 311 yards and two touchdowns but may be sliding back to the bench this week. Trey Hopkins, a Texas commit, will be the highest rated player on the field and he and the rest of the North Shore offensive line will need to rise to the occassion.

BEST MATCH-UP: The Carroll defensive front agains the North Shore offensive line. Carroll grabs headlines with the high scoring offense but the real strength may be a stingy defense. Linebackers Cade Foster and Mitchell Osborne are anchors who can stuff the run and keep the angles on North Shore's speedy quarterback in check. Hopkins is joined on the line by junior star Sedrick Flowers. The two will need to open holes for the run game to develop.

PREDICTION These teams are both very talented and unique. They have tradition of success and have a lot of pressure to win. The game will also be broadcast regionally so there will be a lot of eyes on the result. Having to call a winner is tough, and it will largely hinge on who makes the first mistake early and changes the momentum of the game. Carroll 23, North Shore 13.
