There were some great storylines among teams that won state baseball championships last weekend, but none of those teams were able to land a spot in the final Rivals.com FAB 50 national rankings of the 2008 season.

Pleasure Ridge Park of Louisville, Ky., which already was in the FAB 50 at No. 15, capped a dominating postseason by winning its fourth state title last week and finished No. 15 in the final rankings.

The Panthers (38-4) defeated Lawrence County, 4-1, in the title game to end the season on a 12-game win streak while outscoring 10 post-season opponents by a combined score of 125-7.

The Kentucky tournament MVP was Zack Cox, who combined with Trey Harper to pitch a four-hitter. Cox (10-0) won the semifinal game vs. Owensboro Apollo and, in the finals, retired all six batters he faced on just 10 pitches for the save. Harper (7-0) hurled the first five innings for the win.

Two Panthers, Zach Osborne and Alex Hornback, also were members of the Louisville team which won the 2002 Little League World Series.

PRP won three straight titles under 29-year coach Bill Miller from 1994-96 and lost in the semifinals the last two seasons.

In Michigan, Brother Rice (33-6) of Birmingham won the Division 1 title with only one senior, shortstop Andy Lentz, on its 15-player roster. The Georgetown recruit went 2-for-2 with two runs batted in during an 8-0 title game win over Saline. It was Brother Rice's third title after crowns in 1994 and 1992.

In Indiana, Decatur Central (29-7) won its first state team title in any sport with the Class 4A crown. The Hawks defeated Homestead, 7-3, in the title game.

In Pennsylvania, Canon-McMillan (22-5) of Canonsburg captured the Class AAAA title with a 10-2 title game win over Spring-Ford of Royersford. It was the first Big Macs' baseball title in school history.

Finally, In Minnesota, Coon Rapids (22-11) played the Cinderella tournament role after a 9-11 regular season record and captured its third state Class 3A title with a 6-1 finals' win over Bloomington Jefferson.

The No. 1 FAB 50 spot, and the mythical national title, is awarded to unbeaten Don Bosco Prep (33-0) of Ramsey, N.J. The Ironmen, who clinched their state title and the final No. 1 ranking two weekends ago, are the only spotless team in the final FAB 50 this year.
